/////////////////////// colorless ideas sleep furiously
This project was initiated by the very language of the word Movember, which is a portmanteau of November and moustache. A poster and card set were designed as invitations and promotion for a fictional upcoming exhibit on the oddities and eccentricities of the English language.
The very form of the card set is representative of the complex and complicated nature of the English language. Card sets are filled with fun tidbits about words and constructs in the English language, as well as the information about the event itself. It is up to the individual to construct the message of the cards. As with the famous phrase "Colorless green ideas sleep furiously" by Noam Chomsky, which grammatically and structurally makes perfect sense but has no real meaning, the cards can be arranged in a variety of ways that are aesthetically pleasing but
have no real message. By putting together the cards in a certain order, like
words, the message (or sentence), becomes meaningful.
